About PARKCHATA™

Seattle’s Waterfront Bachata & Salsa Experience.

PARKCHATA™ was created with a simple mission: to make Bachata and Salsa more accessible by bringing people together through dance in one of Seattle’s most iconic public spaces.

What started as an idea from a local member of Seattle’s dance community has grown into a welcoming outdoor experience where people of all ages and skill levels can learn, dance, connect, and enjoy the beauty of Waterfront Park.

Whether you’re taking your very first dance lesson or have been dancing for years, PARKCHATA™ is designed to be an inviting place where everyone feels welcome.

More Than Just a Dance Event

Every PARKCHATA™ begins with a free beginner friendly dance lesson, followed by an outdoor social dance featuring Bachata and Salsa music overlooking Elliott Bay.

It’s a place to meet new people, reconnect with friends, enjoy Seattle’s waterfront, and experience the energy of social dancing in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

No partner is required. No experience is necessary. Just bring yourself and enjoy the evening.

Created by the Community, for the Community

PARKCHATA™ wasn’t created by a large event company or backed by major sponsors. It was created by a local Seattle community member with a simple goal: make social dancing more accessible while bringing people together through unforgettable experiences.

100% Community Supported

PARKCHATA™ is 100% community supported. Every event is made possible through registrations, donations, volunteers, and local partnerships. Every contribution helps us continue creating free outdoor dance experiences for the Seattle community.

Looking Ahead

Our vision is to grow PARKCHATA™ into one of Seattle’s signature community events while keeping it welcoming, inclusive, and accessible to everyone.

Whether you come to learn, dance, or simply enjoy a beautiful evening at Waterfront Park, we’re grateful you’re here.
